CarvRed11001sm2011 Carnevale Cabernet France

Carnevale was named after one of Antonio Brunicardi’s vineyards in Bagni di Lucca Italy. This easy-drinking red is the product of hand harvested Cabernet Franc and fermented using traditional Burgundian open top/punch down techniques.  This is the perfect red for sipping on a hot summer day with a light meal. Bottled with minimal intervention, or manipulation to capture the somewhereness of La Vigna.

Food Pairings: Red Sauces, Grilled meats, Summer Salads

Ingredients: Cabernet Franc grapes (100% estate grown from our 2011 vintage) tartaric acid, and sulfur dioxide. In the winemaking process, the following were utilized: Cultured yeast, yeast nutrient, pectic enzymes, lactic acid bacteria.

A distinctive dry white wine with rich aromas of lemongrass, pineapple, spice and honey. Historically confined to the Jurancon region of Southwest France. Our Petit Manseng is palnted on a stunning 1 acre block high above the Ohio River. This small, thick skinned heirloom grape with loose clusters is an ideal vehicle for premium wine production in Ohio.

Food Pairings: Pan-Seared Scallops, West-Coast Oysters, Lobster, Clams, White Fish, Chicken Breasts, Risotto.

Ingredients: Petit Manseng grapes(100% from our 2011 vintage) and sulfur dioxide. In the winemaking process, the following were utilized: Cultured yeast and bentonite.

2010 La Vigna Proprietary Red

The declaration of Proprietary Red signals a wine crafted exclusively from Bordeaux grape varieties and is considered the very best of La Vigna. Elegant and refined, this beautiful vintage unfolds on the palate in incremental layers of flavors. Aged 26 months in American/French Oak barrels. Bottled with minimal intervention, or manipulation to capture the ”somewhereness” of La Vigna.

2012 la Vigan Rosato2012 Carnevale Rosato di Cabernet Franc

This crisp, light-bodied rosato is the perfect wine for sipping on a hot summer day. Dry, fruity and slightly mango hued in the glass (Provence Wine Council Color Scale)Rose wine color,this wine is the product of hand harvested Cabernet Franc crushed and soaked 18 hours before press. Fermented in stainless steel tanks. The crisp, cool flavors of a well-balanced rosato pair well with grilled, steamed or poached fish, lobster, and risotto. Bottled with minimal intervention, or manipulation to capture the “somewhereness” of La Vigna.

2010 Proprietary White Late Harvest2010 Proprietary White “Late Harvest” Wine: 100% Petit Manseng

Petit Manseng is an old variety, famous for being the only wine used to baptize the royal child, Henry IV. Grown in the Jurancon region of southwest France at the foot of the Pyrenees, it makes what Jancis Robinson eloquently describes as “one of France’s unusually underrated treasures, Jurancon Moelleux, a seductively juicy, sweet, long-lived white.” The full, unforgettable aromas of honey, tropical, and stone-fruit flavors carries the winemaker inputs well. The result is a rich white with a flavor all its own.

Food Pairings: Foie Gras, Spicy Thai, Lemon Curd, Semi-Sweet Chocolate, Ripe Bananas

 2008 Proprietary Red Wine: Cabernet Blend

Truly a prestigious vintage for La Vigna. Vivid, intense aromas of new saddle leather, huge extractions of black currant, sweet tannin, and a multilayered finish that seems to never end. The wine is accessible now, although another 5 years in the cellar is needed to reach its true potential. Aged 15 months in American/French Oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered with minimal intervention, or manipulation to capture the somewhereness of La Vigna.

Food Pairings: Bolognese Meat sauce, Short Ribs, Steak

Ingredients: Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (100% from our 2008 vintage) tartaric acid, and sulfur dioxide. In the winemaking process, the following were utilized: Indigenous yeast (start of fermentation), cultured yeast (second half of fermentation), yeast nutrient, pectic enzymes, lactic acid bacteria, egg whites, and American/French oak barrels.
